29 CFR 1926.303(b)(1): Grinding machines shall be equipped with safety guards in conformance with the requirements of American National Standards Institute, B7.1-1970, Safety Code for the Use, Care and Protection of Abrasive Wheels, and paragraph (d) of this section. a. Located at the job site located at 1100 Mediterranean Avenue, Columbus, Ohio: On or about June 28, 2023, employees operated a portable Makita 6-inch grinder with an abrasive cutting wheel without a safety guard in place while performing roofing demolition work. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by hazards.
