Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.28(b)(11)(ii): Each flight of stairs having at least 3 treads and at least 4 risers was not equipped with stair rail systems and handrails in accordance with Table D-2, Stairway Handrail Requirements. This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, employees accessing the stairs to the dock are exposed to fall hazards when a set of stairs having four risers was not equipped with handrails. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure each flight of stairs having at least 3 treads and at least 4 risers are equipped with stair rails.
