29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): General requirements for machine guards. Guards shall be affixed to the machine where possible and secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible. The guard shall be such that it does not offer an accident hazard in itself: a) On or about January 6, 2023, at a workplace located at 1330 Lime Kiln Road, Green Bay, Wisconsin in the Lower Variety Level, adjacent to the Rendering Department; The expanded metal guarding covering the power transmission components on the waste conveyor was damaged with a sharp metal piece protruding from the enclosure and it was not affixed to the frame.
