29 CFR 1917.11: Active work areas were not kept free of equipment, materials, debris, protruding nails, and other sharp objects not necessary for the work in progress. a) Port of Wilmington, Berth 1, 2, 3, and 4 (including roadway), Customs inspection area (next to Dole), Maintenance Building (33/35), and the Chiquita yard in Wilmington, DE 19801: On or about January 5, 2023, employees conducted loading, unloading and other port support operations where the work area contained equipment, materials and debris not necessary for the work in progress exposing them to impalement and trip hazards.
