29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1):Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions: (a) 17589 E Eastman Dr, Aurora CO 80013: On or about December 27, 2022, inspections of the trench, adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person. There were several hazardous conditions observed during OSHA's inspection which would be evident to a competent person including but not limited to: lack of safe access/egress, excavated materials being located less than 2 feet from the edge of the trench, shoring which did not meet requirements of tabulated data, bent/damaged shoring rails, and lack of soil testing. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
