29 CFR 1910.28(b)(6)(i): Each employee less than 4 feet (1.2 m) above dangerous equipment is protected from falling into or onto the dangerous equipment by a guardrail system or a travel restraint system, unless the equipment is covered or guarded to eliminate the hazard: On or about March 14, 2023, at a facility located at 502 E. Linden Street in Abbotsford, WI; employees working from platforms above stuffer equipment hoppers in South Kitchen were not protected from falling into the dangerous equipment by a guardrail or a travel restraint system. The body belts and chains provided by the employer were not compliant travel restraint systems, which allowed employees to access the unguarded fall hazard on the platform at the edge of the hopper.
