Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(ii): Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 �F (37.8 �C), were dispensed into containers without the nozzle and container being electrically interconnected: a) Boulder Scientific Company, LLC., 598 Third Street, Mead, CO 80542: On or about October 22, 2021, an employee working in the Mars Lab was attempting to transfer butyl lithium in hexanes by bonding the feed tank cable of one section and the other end of the binding cable to the receiving waste drum. The waste drum over-pressurized and exploded into a flash fire and thus exposed the employee and others in the immediate area to fire hazards and burns.
