29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about July 8, 2021, at the worksite located at 1450 E. Bolivar Avenue, Saint Francis, WI, the employer did not ensure machine guarding was provided to protect employees from hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, etc. Effytec machine # 16 and # 17 contained a loading hopper that did not have adequate guarding to protect workers from rotating auger components.
