Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.119(g)(3): The employer did not ascertain that each employee involved in operating a process has received and understood the training required by this paragraph and did not prepare a record which contains the identity of the employee, the date of training, and the means used to verify that the employee understood the training. On or about May 28, 2021, where sulfur dioxide (liquid) was present in quantities greater than 1000 pounds, the employer did not ensure that training on an overview of the process and in operating procedures outlined in 1910.119(f) was conducted and documented. Lack of training and subsequent verification and documentation exposes employees to hazards associated with sulfur dioxide in the event of equipment failure or leaks in the system.
