29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations was not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: On or about November 11, 2020, an explosion occurred while manufacturing Pure Vista, a water-activated product used to generate chlorine dioxide gas, comprised of ingredient components capable of creating combustible dusts, and the employer did not ensure that equipment located inside the manufacturing room such as the new conical mixer (Yifex Conical Ribbon Mixer) was approved for a Class II hazardous location. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
