29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: Osman "Alex" Inestrosa dba Lifetime Contractor Corp., does not ensure that employees use appropriate head protection where employees were exposed to overhead hazards. This violation was most recently observed at 90 Mola Drive, Elmwood Park, NJ, at instance (a): Employees engaged in car port garage roofing activities were exposed to were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12ft to the concrete below when an extension ladder used to access the roof had side rails that did not extend 3 feet above the upper landing surface. Condition noted on or about 10/24/2020. To abate this violation the employer must ensure that its employees performing roofing activities extend the ladder at least 3 feet above the upper landing.
