29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in steel erection activity who is on a walking/ working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems. (a)Brothers Construction, LLC @ 14648 423rd Avenue, Bristol, SD 57219: On or about and at times prior to September 1, 2020, the exposing employer did not ensure an employee was protected from fall hazards while installing 42-foot long by 3-foot wide corrugated steel roof decking material on the roof of a wooden pole-to-truss cattle barn under construction. Employees were utilizing a Guardian 50-foot Poly Steel Rope Vertical Lifeline assembly as a fall protection system while working on the roof. Employees were disconnecting the lifeline snap-hook from the anchor which consisted of the wooden trusses and walking to the next area where roof panels were being installed without the protection of a fall protection system. This condition exposed an employee to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet.
