29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1)(vii): Each employee on a scaffold, not otherwise specified in paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (g)(1)(vi) of this section, more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above lower level was not protected from falls by the use of personal fall arrest systems or guardrail systems meeting the requirements of paragraph (g)(4) of this section. a) 1 Vanderbilt Blvd., at the Interior of the Scaffold's 4th Level, by the Elevator Shaft, Florham Park, NJ. Masons performing bricklaying operations were exposed to falls of 29 feet to the ground below as when platform planks were removed, the open side of a platform, not the side next the wall being laid, was not guarded with guardrails nor were personal fall arrest systems used. b) 1 Vanderbilt Blvd., at the Exterior of the Scaffold's 5th Level, Where the Rough Terrain Forklift Truck Loaded Blocks, Florham Park, NJ. Masons involved in bricklaying operations were exposed to falls of 29 feet to the ground below when offloading blocks and concrete buckets from the forks of the rough terrain forklift as scaffold guardrails were down leaving a 7 to 9 feet opening to fall through and no personal fall arrest systems were in use. Violation occurred on or about 03/18/2020.
