Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees On or about November 27, 2019, the employer did not provide full supplemental protection on the Amada #314 hydraulic press brake when it had not established a procedure for using magnets to permit easy handling and positioning of material during a bending procedure. A feasible means of abatement to correct this hazard includes the use of magnets to hold small parts in place to avoid the operator's hands/fingers from being pinched between the metal being worked and the tooling during the bending procedure, and adequately training employees on the new procedure.
