29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems: (a) Krohmer Plumbing, Inc. at Vincent Place & South Miller Avenue, Mitchell, SD 57301: On or about and at times prior to November 20, 2019, the employer did not ensure that daily inspections of the excavation were made by a competent person, employees were working within an excavation with vertical and near vertical walls and no cave-in protection. This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards due to cave-in and crushing hazards.
