Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3)(i)(A): The employer did not insure that when an unqualified person was working in an elevated position near overhead lines, the location was such that the person and the longest conductive object he or she may contact, when voltages to ground was 50kV or below, did not come closer than 10 feet (305 cm) to any unguarded, energized overhead line, exposing the employees to the risk of injuries caused by contacting energized current carrying parts. These may include electric shock, severe burns, and electrocution: On or about August 31, 2019, at 3210 Tamiami Trail N., Naples, Florida, 34103, an employee was exposed to electrocution hazards when cutting tree branches from an aerial lift that placed the employee and/or branches that he was cutting within 10 feet of a 7,620-volt phase to ground energized overhead power line.
