29 CFR 1926.651(h)(1): Employees were working in excavations in which there was accumulated water, or excavations in which water was accumulating, and adequate precautions had not been taken to protect employees against the hazards posed by water accumulation. On December 12, 2018, at a jobsite located at 3303 South Oxford Avenue, Independence, Missouri 64052, an employee was exposed to serious struck by and or engulfment hazards. There was standing water which continued to accumulate in the open excavation due to not having an effective means of water removal at the work site.
