29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems: At a construction site located at 887 E Walnut St, Raymore, MO: Employees were exposed to struck-by and Caught-in hazards. The employer failed to protect employees from recognized hazards associated with the absence of protective systems in combination of compromised soil conditions and the accumulation of material along the edge of the excavation. The excavation was not examined by a component person who understood how to properly evaluate the soil conditions and take corrective action.
