29 CFR 1910.217(c)(1)(i): It shall be the responsibility of the employer to provide and insure the usage of "point of operation guards" or properly applied and adjusted point of operation devices on every operation performed on a mechanical power press. See Table O-10. (a) On August 22, 2018, in the Production Area, a press operator was exposed to an amputation hazard from openings on both ends of the metal guard on a C45 Bliss part revolution mechanical power press exceeding Table O-10 requirements. (b) The metal guard, with openings on both ends and a plexiglas front cover that slid upward, removable cover on the front, enclosing the die area of the C45 Bliss part revolution mechanical power press was not secured to the power press.
