Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1424(a)(2)(ii): To prevent employees from entering hazard areas, the employer did not erect and maintain control lines, warning lines, railings or similar barriers to mark the boundaries of the hazard areas and/or did not train each employee to understand what these markings signify. The employer is failing to mark the boundary of the boom truck crane hazard area and exposing employees to struck-by and crushing hazards. The most recent occurrence was evident during the inspection conducted on August 16, 2018 at the jobsite located at 5183 Rd V, Davenport, NE 68335. The employer did not set-up warning lines, barriers, or similar devices to mark the boundaries of the hazard areas. The purpose of the boundaries is to ensure that employees know what area to stay clear of when the crane is in operation.
