29 CFR 1910.179(n)(3)(iii)(a): There is no sudden acceleration or deceleration of the moving load. a. On or about August 8, 2018, at the work site located at 2195 Wright Brothers Avenue, Columbus, OH, employees were flipping a 14 foot long steel I-beam weighing 12,000 pounds so the other side(s) could be painted. The flip caused the I-beam to suddenly swing horizontally and an employee was struck several times and pinned against the wall as a result of the sudden acceleration of the I-beam.
