Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: On or about August 2, 2018 and times prior thereto, the employer failed to cap all the exposed rebar in the following instances: a) The horizontal rebar over the tunnel area where the training facility will be. b) the vertical rebar near the tunnel that employees were required to walk over prior to it being fill in, and c) in the northeast corner of the site where employees were installing pvc pipes and underground wiring This condition exposed employees to impalement hazards in the event of a fall.
