29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about 6/7/2018, Silo Area: The transfer auger to the inclined loading conveyor was not provided with a guard. b) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: An emergency stop device was detached from the Hawker Doweler Machine. c) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The blade of the Yellow Doweler saw was not adequately guarded in that portions of the blade were exposed. d) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The blade of the Orange Doweler saw was not adequately guarded in that portions of the blade were exposed. e) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: Blades on the CNC Trim Saw were not adequately guarded in that portions of the blades were exposed and existing guard material was not substantial. f) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The interlock was bypassed on the door of the Locatelli CNC. g) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The Delta Lathe was not provided with a chuck guard. h) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The interlock was bypassed on the door of the Locatelli Sanding machine. i) On or about 6/7/2018, Production Area: The blades of the Mattison Lathes were not adequately guarded, employees exposed while loading and unloading the lathes. j) On or about 6/13/2018, Saw Mill: The blade of a Trim Saw was not adequately guarded. Abatement certification is required for these items.
