29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a) ColorCoat, Inc./Middlesex, NJ- Throughout the plant area: The employer did not provide adequate hand protection for employees using harmful chemicals to clean windows prior to spray painting. Employees used latex examination gloves while using the following chemicals: - R7K119 Lacquer Thinner (which contains 25% aliphatic hydrocarbons, 33% toluene, 21% Acetone, 5% Xylene, etc.) - Isopropyl alcohol 99% Condition observed on or about June 5, 2018.
