29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Authorized employee(s) did not receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation: At the time of the inspection, cable stripping machine operators were authorized to lockout equipment but had not received adequate training on the methods and means for energy isolation. Machine operator pulled e-stop on ELDAN Cable Stripper and began maintenance to remove the blade for sharpening. The energy source was not isolated exposing employees to the unexpected energization of the machine. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
