Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.753(d)(1): Routes for suspended loads shall be pre-planned to ensure that no employee is required to work directly below a suspended load: The employer is failing to ensure employees are protected from overhead struck-by hazards associated with suspended loads. This was most recently documented at 265 N. Showboat Boulevard, Hastings, Nebraska on or about January 25th, 2018 when materials were lifted utilizing the boom of a Sunbelt Model 86-S aerial lift. Employees are exposed to struck-by hazards due the suspended load being lifted above them with no previous planning to ensure that employees would not be in the area below the lifting path of travel.
