Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1025(e)(2): Respiratory protection was not provided to supplement engineering and work practice controls, that did not control employees exposure to or below 50 micrograms per cubic meter: 900 Jeffco Executive Drive: Employer is exposing employees to hazardous conditions. Employees who are exposed to lead above the permissible exposure level of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air are not provided respiratory protection where the ventilation systems do not bring the lead levels to below 50 micrograms per cubic meter. On 11/07/2017 an employee who was the "trainer" was exposed to airborne lead at twice the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 micrograms of lead per cubic meter of air as determined by personal air sampling conducted by OSHA. The exposure level obtained was 110 micrograms of air borne lead per cubic meter of air. Sampling was conducted for 306 minutes. The ventilation systems did not bring the lead levels to below 50 micrograms per cubic meter and the employee was not provided respiratory protection to supplement the ineffective engineering controls.
