29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. On or about 27 September 2017, the employer failed to provide machine guarding to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by all production equipment to include the rotating rollers on the Flood Coater Machine. This exposed employees to a caught-in and crushing hazards. Abatement documentation is required in accordance with the 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
