29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) The employer did not ensure that the pinch point created with the return movement of the ram arm and the press frame of the Greenerd machine Model, HA-4-1, #C1562, was properly guarded or that a pinch point was not created from the return movement of the ram arm. On June 24, 2017, an employee wiped particles and dirt from the arm attached to the ram, causing the ram return height adjustment to slide downward and the press arm to move upward. This movement resulted in the tip of the employee's left middle being pinched between the ram arm and the frame of the machine
