29 CFR 1910.147(d)(2): Machine or equipment shutdown. The machine or equipment shall be turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment. An orderly shutdown must be utilized to avoid any additional or increased hazard(s) to employees as a result of the equipment stoppage. a. On or about January 12, 2017, located at the Core Baker, employees entered the Core Baker through a Kirk Key system in order to clean the Core Baker's pads. While the employees were inside the Core Baker, the conveyor line was never shutdown or shut off in order to protect the employees from the chains, sprockets and rotating rollers, thereby exposing the employees to a caught-in hazard.
