Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1207(a): The employer did not provide training to each employee whose work is regulated by this standard, at no cost to the employee, and did not ensure that the employee possessed the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of duties assigned under this standard: The employer is failing to protect employees from hazardous atmospheres associated with confined space entry. This was most recently documented on or about December 15, 2016 at the jobsite located at or near 507 Coleman Road in Belton, Missouri. Prior to work beginning, the employer did not provide or require training regarding the recognition, evaluation, and control of hazards associated with confined space entry. An employee entered an active sewer manhole, and was exposed to potential hazards such as but not limited to oxygen deficient atmospheres, flammable gasses and vapors, and toxic air contaminants.
