Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. On or about October 12, 2016 the employer did not provide suitable facilities for flushing the eyes where deli employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals including, but not limited to, "KAY" KAYQUAT quaternary ammonium sanitizer, "Ecolab" Quaternary Disinfectant Cleaner, "Ecolab" Greasestrip Plus, "Ecolab" Retail Chlorinated Cleaner, and "Ecolab" Victory water additive for pathogen reduction. The eyewash provided, a Guardian faucet mount, was intended by the manufacturer to be a supplement, not a substitute for standard plumbed-in eyewash equipment.
