29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes is not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. Employees in the body shop are exposed to flying particles and air embolisms while using compressed air for cleaning and the employer fails to ensure that the pressure was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that compressed air used for cleaning purposes is reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including a copy of site-specific program detailing the procedures used to ensure compliance and training of employees.
