29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): Complete inspections of the crane was not being performed at intervals as generally defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii)(b) of this section: On or about August 11, 2016, and at times prior thereto, at this metal molds and dies manufacturing plant production area, where employees hoisted heavy equipment and molds with overhead cranes. The employer did not perform any complete periodic inspections for the past 12 months for any defects of his overhead cranes components or functional operating mechanisms such as, but not limited to: a. Overhead crane (Engineered Crane Systems of America, 25 Tons, Shop #1); a. Overhead crane (Engineered Crane Systems of America, 25 Tons, Shop #2);and, c. Overhead crane (Detroit Hoist, 2 Tons, Shop #3).
