Natural and synthetic fiber rope slings shall be immediately removed from service if any of the following conditions are present such as broken or cut fibers: In the mechanic shop, the employees were using synthetic fiber slings that were severely cut and frayed, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by and crushed by the load.
