29 CFR 1910.1048(e)(1)(i): The employer shall establish regulated areas where the concentration of airborne formaldehyde exceeds either the TWA or the STEL and post all entrances and access ways with signs bearing the following legend: DANGER FORMALDEHYDE MAY CAUSE CANCER CAUSES SKIN, EYE, AND RESPIRATORY IRRITATION AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY The employer did not establish a regulated area for employees with the following exposures: a) Gross Room: An employee was exposed to formaldehyde. The employee's exposure was 3.20 ppm, which was approximately 4.26 times the permissible exposure level of 0.75 ppm. The sampling was conducted for 420 minutes during one 8 hour shift on 8/3/16. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
