29 CFR 1910.1018(e)(2): Initial monitoring was not performed for each workplace, or work operation covered by 29 CFR 1910.1018 to accurately determine the airborne concentration of inorganic arsenic to which employees may be exposed: (Construction Reference: 1926.1118) (a) On and after 01/18/2016, at GE Power, Building 5, 4E floor, for the laborers conducting demo work. Employees were required to remove waste debris containing arsenic by hand and by using HEPA and mercury vacuums. The employer did not perform initial air monitoring to determine what measures were needed to protect employees when the presence of arsenic in bulk samples and in employees biological testing was positive.
