29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not required to wear appropriate goggles, to protect them from the rays when noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields were not used: 101 North Main Street, Newark, Illinois, west building shop, welding areas - on or about February 23, 2016, and dates thereafter, appropriate goggles were required to be used where flameproof screens to enclose the perimeter of welding activity were also not provided and used. Employees working in areas adjacent to welding activities and walk by these areas were exposed to welding rays likely to cause damage to their eye(s) and skin. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
