Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(f)(2)(i): When outside servicing personnel were engaged in activities in a facility, the onsite employer and the outside employer did not inform each other of their respective lockout or tagout procedures: The employer is failing to protect employees from the hazard of unexpected machine energization during the performance of a maintenance activity. This was most recently documented on February 15, 2016, at the Stahl Specialty Company facility located at 1301 Stahl Drive in Warrensburg, Missouri, when an outside contractor was onsite assisting with maintenance on a Laempe LFB50_H Sand Core machine, and the host employer and contractor failed to inform each other of their respective lockout or tagout procedures.
