29 CFR 1910.107(d)(9): Air exhaust from spray operations was directed so that it contaminated makeup air being introduced into the spraying area or other ventilating intakes, and was directed so as to create a nuisance. Air exhausted from spray operations was being recirculated: (a)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 16, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fire, explosion, or respiratory hazards in that the air exhaust from the Powder Coat Booth was directed in a manner that contaminated makeup air being introduced into the spraying area or other ventilation intakes, and was directed so as to create a nuisance. Air exhaust from spray operations was being recirculated. This condition exposed employees to fire, explosion and respiratory hazards.
