29 CFR 1910.107(d)(2): The employer did not ensure spraying area(s) were not provided with mechanical ventilation adequate to remove flammable vapors, mists, or powders to a safe location and to confine and control combustible residues: (a)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 16, 2023, the employer did not ensure the mechanical ventilation system in the spray booth provided a method to confine and control the removal of combustible residues in that the duct system did not remove powder coating residual to a safe location to control combustible residues. The spray booth ventilation and duct system were not effective in removing combustible powder residual associated with the coating of casino slot machine parts. This condition exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards.
