29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Flexible cords were not used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger were not repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced. a) Building 3, Speed Cut, Timber Mill, MH6G - 20, S/N Y0559: On and prior to December 4, 2024, employees worked within three feet of the main power cable which had been spliced with wire nuts and tape. Conductors were visible between the tape and cable jacket. The power cable is a SEOW-A, 4,4, which is rated for a maximum voltage of 600.
