29 CFR 1910.107(c)(5): Electrical equipment not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable residues and explosive vapors was present in spraying area(s): (a)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 16, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fire hazards in that relocatable power taps (outlet strip) was not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable combustible residues were present in powder coating areas. This exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards. (b)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 16, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fire hazards in that an electrical duplex box on the support column in the powder coat area was not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable combustible residues were present in powder coating areas. This exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards. (c)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 16, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fire hazards in that a portable hand grinder was not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable combustible residues were present in powder coating areas.
