Employees in the spray paint booth sand, prime, paint, and clean shielding material containing lead. On May 8, 2023, an employee sanding shielding materials in the machine room was exposed to respirable lead concentrations of 120 micrograms per cubic meter of air as an 8 hour Time Weighted Average exceeding the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air by 2.4 times. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of 66 minutes. The shielding material used contained 99.99 percent lead. Violation occurred on or about May 8, 2023.
