Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003D Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(B):Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees with a condition that interfered with the face-to-facepiece seal or valve function: Facility: Employees conducting chop gun operations, lay-operations, and sanding and buffing operations wore painter's spray socks over their head and face against overspray. However, these workers wore their tight-fitting respirators on top of the spray sock. This prevents a proper face-to-facepiece seal and greatly reduces the effectiveness of the respirator's protection.
