Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003D Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.95(k)(1):The employer shall train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time weighted average of 85 decibels in accordance with the requirements of this section. The employer shall institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program. UTCRAS Inc., located at 501 Highland Ave. Morton, PA: (a) Violation noted on May 5, 2021. The employer did not provide training for employees working in high noise areas. Employees working in Building O and Building U are exposed to continuous noise levels that were equivalent to 67.22% (Painter) and 89.41%(Welder) of the allowable 50% dose for an 8 hour-time average (TWA). These exposures are equivalent to an 8 hours TWA of 87.1 dBA and 89.1 dBA respectively, exceeding the OSHA Action Level of 85.0 dBA. Sampling times were 336 and 264 minutes respectively. Zero exposures were assumed for all unsampled time periods.
