29 CFR 1926.452(j)(2): Poles shall be secured to the structure by rigid triangular bracing or equivalent at the bottom, top, and other points as necessary. When the pump jack has to pass bracing already installed, an additional brace shall be installed approximately 4 feet (1.2 m) above the brace to be passed, and shall be left in place until the pump jack has been moved and the original brace reinstalled. a. On or about October 25, 2019, located at 34 Miami Avenue in Columbus, Ohio, employees were working from a pump jack scaffold that was not secured to the bottom of the structure or had any other means to prevent the poles from being moved, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards of a scaffold collapse and fall hazards up to 18 feet.
