29 CFR 1910.217(e)(1)(i): A program of periodic and regular inspections of mechanical power presses was not established and followed to ensure that all parts, auxiliary equipment and safeguards were in a safe operating condition and adjustment: (a) Perry Tool & Die Co. at 11606 Reed Ct., Broomfield, CO 80020: On and before June 23, 2017 the employer did not establish an inspection program to include periodic and regular inspections of a mechanical power press (punch press). Employees operate the Perkins Machine Company mechanical punch press model 300-B in the shop. This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards when operating the mechanical power press. Abatement Note: The employer shall maintain a certification record of inspections, tests and maintenance work which includes the date of the inspection, test or maintenance; the signature of the person who performed the inspection, test, or maintenance; and the serial number or other identifier of the press that was inspected, tested or maintained.
