29 CFR 1910.1048(n)(3)(v): The training program for formaldehyde did not include instructions for the handling of spills, emergencies, and cleanup procedures: a) Embalming Room - On or about April 30, 2013, the employer had not effectively trained employees on the proper handling, neutralization, and disposal of formaldehyde-contaminated waste in that they have been using bleach [sodium hypochlorite] instead of ammonia [quaternary ammonium] to clean the formaldehyde-contaminated surfaces of the embalming room. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
