29 CFR 1910.303(c)(3)(i): Conductors were not spliced or joined with splicing devices identified for the use or by brazing, welding, or soldering with a fusible metal or alloy. Soldered splices shall first be spliced or joined to be mechanically and electrically secure without solder and then soldered. All splices and joints and the free ends of conductors were not covered with an insulation equivalent to that of the conductors or with an insulating device identified for the purpose. a) Building 3, Speed Cut, Timber Mill, MH6G - 20, S/N Y0559: On and prior to December 4, 2024, employees worked within three feet of the main power cable which had been spliced/repaired with wire nuts and tape. Conductors were visible between the tape and cable jacket. The power cable is a SEOW-A, 4,4, which is rated for a maximum of 600 volts. b) Building 3, Speed Cut, Timber Mill, MH6G - 20, S/N Y0559: On and prior to December 4, 2024, employees worked within 18" of conductors coming out of head saw six. c) Building 3, Speed Cut, Timber Mill, MH6G - 20, S/N Y0559: On and prior to December 4, 2024, employees worked and passed directly adjacent to several conductors extending from the end of the track with wire nuts on the ends.
